Welcome
Handcrafted wooden surfboards — born from the forest, shaped for the sea.
Why Choose a Wooden Surfboard?
In a world of mass-produced foam and fibreglass, a wooden surfboard is a statement. It says you care about where your gear comes from, how it is made, and what happens to it when its journey is over. At Tide & Timber, every board is shaped from sustainably harvested European timber — no petrochemicals, no toxic resins, no landfill at the end of its life.
Wood is not just a material. It is alive with history, texture, and warmth. When you paddle out on a Tide & Timber board, you feel the grain beneath your feet. You ride a piece of the forest on the ocean. That connection between land and sea is what surfing was always meant to be.
The Tide & Timber Difference
- 100% sustainably sourced European timber — oak, ash, paulownia and cedar
- Hand-shaped in our Flensburg workshop by experienced craftspeople
- Bio-based epoxy and natural linseed oil finish — no toxic chemicals
- Every board is unique — the wood grain tells its own story
- Fully biodegradable at end of life — return it to the earth
- Carbon-negative production — we plant two trees for every board we shape
Our Mission
We believe the best surfboards grow in forests, not factories. Our mission is to prove that performance, beauty, and sustainability can ride the same wave.
Tide & Timber Manifesto
Founded in 2019 on the Baltic coast, Tide & Timber started with a simple question: what if we made surfboards the way nature intended? Five years later, we have shaped over 400 boards, planted 800 trees, and built a community of surfers who believe that riding waves should not cost the earth.
