Spring Beach Cleanup: 340 kg Collected

Our annual spring cleanup brought together 60 volunteers who removed 340 kg of waste from the Flensburg coastline.

Our annual spring beach cleanup is always one of the highlights of our year, and 2026 was the biggest yet. Sixty volunteers gathered on the Flensburg coastline on a crisp April morning and spent four hours combing through sand, rocks, and dunes.

The haul: 340 kg of waste, including fishing nets, plastic bottles, polystyrene fragments, and — sadly — pieces of broken conventional surfboards. It was a stark reminder of why we do what we do.
